Dear Parents,

This is a reminder about PE kit.

At Darfield Upperwood we highly value Physical Education and don’t want your child missing out on lessons due to a lack of P.E kit. We ask that children change into P.E kit for comfort, cleanliness and safety reasons. As all children have three lessons of P.E a week it may help your child to remember their kit if they bring their P.E bag on Monday and leave it in school until Friday.

For indoor P.E we ask that children wear black shorts and plain white or blue
T-shirt (not vests). Indoor P.E is done in bare feet, as this is much safer to work on apparatus. For outdoor P.E, your child will need trainers and in winter a suitable jumper and jogging bottoms.

Jewellery can be a hazard at school, particularly when young children are playing together. In line with the Local Authority guidelines, all jewellery and earrings must be removed and long hair tied back for P.E. We would like to ask you that if you intend on having your child’s ears pierced, you do so in the summer holidays which will allow 6 weeks healing time, as children are not permitted to take part in P.E. whilst wearing earrings.
